Project Information
In accordance with §17, clause 2a of the Energiewirtschaftsgesetz (EnWG) the TenneT TSO GmbH (TTG) has tasked the TenneT Offshore GmbH (TOG) with connecting the offshore wind parks planned in the German Bight / North Sea to the German high voltage electricity grid. With the transfer system SylWin alpha, which incorporates the SylWin alpha platform, TOG intends to connect several of the wind farms. TOG has contracted Siemens AG (SAG) with erecting this grid connection. Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) has been contracted by SAG to perform the jacket and topside transport and installation operations. As part of this project Dockwise (DW) in turn has been contracted by SHL to provide all engineering, preparation, equipment, vessels and management for the Transport and Installation of the SylWin Alpha platform.
SylWin alpha is built around 70 kilometers west of Sylt and is up to 864 MW of electricity from offshore wind farms and DanTysk Butendiek of AC and DC power and convert forward to the German mainland. The substation has huge dimensions. With a total height of about 80 meters (including 40 meters above the water), a width of 56 meters and a length of 82 meters it is the largest platform of its kind.
Platform
The SylWin Alpha platform is designed as an offshore float-over platform for the grid connection of offshore wind farms. When operational, it will be transferring up to 864 MW of offshore wind energy. The platform is designed as a closed, weatherproof body which houses all the essential converter elements. The platform will be transported on Barge “Anissa†to the site and installed on top of the Sylwin Alpha jacket, using a float-over procedure. After the float-over operation, the platform will be elevated into the final position, using strand jacks.
Requirements/ Training & Education
Valid certification:
passport (at least valid for 6 months after signing off)
seaman’s book (at least valid for 6 months after signing off) or certificate of competence (at least valid for 6 months after signing off)
seafarer medical examination (at least valid till the end of the intended contract onboard)
STCW courses (appropriate for the type of vessel trade)
Must have a good command of the English language (both verbal and in writing)
BOSIET certificate
PPE is not available on the platform, so needs to be taken with you
Dear Employee,
You will be employed by T.O.S. on a Dutch employment contract, because you will be working on a vessel with a Dutch/European flag, or the working territory of the vessel will be Dutch waters.
This means that you will have to pay social security premiums in the Netherlands. In the Dutch system within the social security premiums there is a small part of income tax, it is not possible to separate this.
T.O.S. is however allowed to apply a discount on this tax percentage, which saves you money. We can however only apply for this discount if we have your signature for this. That is why we ask you to sign the form ‘Model Opgaaf gegevens voor de loonheffingen’. If you do not sign this form we are obligated by law to charge a tax rate of 52% so this will be very unattractive for you!
Therefore we ask you to sign the form. You are not signing for anything else.
